Is it possible to pump breastmilk during your clinical rotation? I'm just thinking ahead as to what I could/would do if I was to get pregnant. Thanks in advance!

Yep. One my classmates was doing this during clinical last year. She pumped during a couple short breaks after reporting off her patient to a classmate. I clearly remember her asking me to keep an eye on her breasts during the day in case she started leaking.

Yes it is absolutely possible, and any good nursing instructor should be very supportive since breastfeeding is so important in maintaining and supporting health.

Yes definitely...and you'll have to unless you want to leak all over, lol. I know of a few nursing students that are pumping. Just make sure you get a good pump.

Yes! I did it! My instructor let me go a couple times during the day and then I would also time it so I could pump during our lunch break. It worked out really well!
I'm glad to see these responses! I was unable to BF my daughter so if and when I do get pregnant I am making it my mission to exclusively breastfeed!

I pumped with no problems. :) Of all programs, this one should be sympathetic to the cause. Good luck to you!
(Many hospitals have dedicated pumping rooms, check at yours!)
