I am an LPN. I graduated LPN school in 2005. I am currently enrolled in a Community College and am about to graduate in May with my Associates Degree. The question is--do I apply for New Grad Positions? Or just RN Positions? I recently applied for two New Grad Positions at two local hospitals and was rejected for both! I was surprised given my experience--or is that the problem? What to do? Thanks for any input!:)

I know in my area, I've very rarely seen a position listed specifically as "new grad", so new grads typically just apply for RN or LPN positions. That's what I did when I was applying before finishing LPN school. They figured out from my resume that I was a new grad.

You are a new grad, even with the LPN experience. But I encourage you to apply for any position that interests you anyway! You never know.

Do not limit yourself! I agree that you should apply for any position you are interested in. The new grad slots at my facility were not listed online and they pulled the new grads from applications they received for RN positions that were posted. I was also a LPN before I finished my RN.
Good luck!
Thanks guys!
I will take your advice and apply at any and all positions and just take it as it comes.
