Hello again!

sorry my score for all is 90 and not 92. I just checked again last night, my bad. But yup I am not surprised of the makeup of the new incoming class. With the economy being what it is at the moment, healthcare is one in which jobs for the most part are secure.

I guess we have to hold still and wait, I am sure that once we are in (I am staying positive) we will be somewhat stressed with all the workload.

Ok guys I gotta go back to my current reality and the demands of my job.

Anabella

liz0105 - welcome. Do you mind if I ask what your NLN scores were (composite and AD)? Also, which program are you applying for.

@liz; I'm not too sure what that has to do with me. I'm not going to drop my plans and dreams because others are trying to patch up their poor career choice in an economic meltdown. I know this comes off as mean, and I'm sorry. :(

Nurse2011,

That doesn't come off as mean, that comes off as the words of a young girl with tunnel vision.

I don't believe any of the comments were intending to derail you from your dreams. I think the comments were simply words of advice....granted, advice not requested, but advice with good intentions.

I'm sorry but you can't even grasp basic comprehension. You missed the point that the previous poster was trying to make. He was NOT belittling you by implying that you were incapable of completing the tasks that a 2 year program would entail. He has stated that your admissions chances are made that much harder BECAUSE of the fact that you are COMPETING with an older and more experienced generation that show (and can back up) proof that they are determined and capable of making this transition.

Please, especially as you are entering a health care career, learn to be humble. It's great that you are a young individual with such passion for your chosen career, but there times when you need to step back and let those more experienced to lead and guide you. DO NOT get all huffy and puffy and boast about a VERY average high school GPA - at best, your statistics are mediocre compared to the many esteemed individuals that are pursuing the same path as you.

I wish you luck in your future endeavors and hope you take this with a grain of salt.

And as a side note, your mother has absolutely nothing to do with admissions. She may be able to guide you but only for so long. She cannot sit there and take your tests for you should you gain acceptance to Beth. The workload is never something you should be taking so lightly. I'm sure many will agree with me here but are just too nice and humble to voice their opinions (as respectable and professional workers of the health care world should be).

Please understand where we are coming from. By no means are we trying to belittle you or your accomplishments. While I applaud your zeal and dedication, I think you are underestimating what you have ahead of you, if accepted.

I've spoken with numerous people who are nurses and are in nursing school, while their way of learning and level of education may vary, one thing remains the same, nursing school is NO JOKE!!! The ability to grasp and retain information in a short period of time can be challenging if you are ill prepared, lack organization skills, and time management skills.

While you may not have any problem with the above, many people young and old, find that they need to work on those skills in order to survive the program.

What I am basically saying is this, because we don't know you on a personal level it is easier to be truthful and not sugar coat what lies ahead......is it impossible? heck no, but it's not walk in the park either.

Best of luck to you.....hopefully we will be class of 2011 :loveya:

wooooo. Let's all just take a deep breath. I think we are all overwhelmed and completely stressed. I'm gonna try to take this back to a place of neutrality and comfort for those of us waiting for the BIG decision. Everyone can take from this forum any advice and guidance they want. I think we can agree that we are all here to support and lean on each other.:w00t::kiss

nursefor2011 - I think the forum has spoken and given their advice, but ultimately we all know it is your decision and you have to make that for yourself. And I think everyone here will be supportive of whatever you decide. So good luck.

MOVING ON - does anyone have any updates? How was everyone's day?:p

Also welcome to the forum Karafornurse2012. I'm gonna ask you what I ask everyone who comes here. Are you a BI applicant for this fall? If so, can I ask what your NLN scores were and which program you are applying to?

PS: I know I went a little crazy of the icons. Just realized there were a ton. I'm icon-happy.

I'm actually a pre-pharmacy student. I've been reading these pages for a while because a close friend of mine is pursuing this career and it doesn't hurt to be knowledgeable on what she has to endure. I've learned a lot and it's certainly a different view from the nursing angle compared to pharmacy. My ID's just a random spinoff of the rest of your names.

Our career paths are sure to meet at some point, I look forward to working with all these fantastic nurses.

wow, what happened to the thread?

Hi everyone....

bp2244, luv your positive attitude. No new updates. I tried to get in touch with *** *****, but I just got her voicemail. Has anyone tried to reach her today? Looking at old threads from last year, it seems like people were getting contacted around the second week of May for interviews.

karafornurse2012 - awesome. I actually had considered pharmacy as well. Good choice.

thanks Ripley. I was thinking 2nd week of May as well. I have been keeping up with everyone's stats and this is what I've got. 5 of us are waiting to see if we got interviews and 6 are waiting for final decisions. I have a feeling that we will all know something next week or perhaps even the following. I'm pretty cool and relaxed now. I was def more anxious when I had no idea about timing.

Does anyone know the number of seats available for each program? I spoke with someone who works at BI, who told me the evening program is usually harder to get into because of seats availability. Does anyone know if that is true?

The waiting is truly killing me .

Whoa what happened here.. :p

Anyway, Triple A's they told me the same thing because there's a lot of working people who wants the night and weekend program. Someone posted that there are 100 seats available but didn't somebody say its 120.. That poster also said that there's only been 20 people accepted. So on Monday they'll decide and add more people to that list..

I am so scared right now. I'm even having nightmares and can't sleep very well. Lol. 3 more days til decide!! Ahhh:anbd:
