Best Pharm Flashcards??

Published

Hello Everyone,

I am just starting Med-Surg and we are beginning Pharm in that class. Can anyone recommend Pharm flash cards? There are so many to choose from that I wanted so reviews before purchasing! Thanks in advance!!!! And my program isn't doing a specific Pharm class, it's being integrated into the med-surg curriculum so any tips would also be great!

I just spent all week searching for the perfect Pharm cards! (I know what you mean by so many to choose from, there are tons!) And I found two that I think provide the best info that is needed for MedSurg (I'm currently in MedSurg). I recommend Barron's NCLEX-RN Flash cards by Jere Hammer and Pharm Phlash! Pharmacology Flash Cards by Valerie Leek. Both can be purchased on Amazon. My nursing program does do a separate Pharmacology course and I wish I would have had these cards when I took the course last semester. But they are perfect for MedSurg.

I think the cards found at this link: https://allnurses.com/nursing-student-assistance/pharmacology-flashcards-595483.html are excellent... of course, I'm biased.

What they have going for them:

1) They're FREE

2) They were made by an actual nursing student taking pharmacology at the time

3) They're geared toward ATI... for which many people have to take the pharm test

4) They're electronic so you can put 'em on your phone, tablet, or PC - as well as printing hard copies

5) They're unlocked so you can edit them to suit your purposes

6) They're organized by system

7) They're serialized so you can keep track of which is which

8) They're FREE

Specializes in LAD.

I bought flashcards and never used them. I ended up making my own little charts. Actually making them helped me retain the material.

and they are very good!!!!!!!!!!!

I made my own charts/flashcards as well, and honestly, it's the only way I ended up retaining everything. Got large cards and color coded them. I got in A in pharm when many failed -so it was worth it. Also look here and on med boards for mnemonics - I used those, I made up my own. Whatever keeps it in your brain!
