Hello All,
I am new to posting to this site, however I have found some very useful and informative info from all the posts that I have read. Now I am in need of assistance. I want to become a PMHNP, I am a Army veteran and I have experience in several areas including psych (both inpatient and outpatient), med-surg, step down units, oncology, rehab, LTAC, SNF just to name a few. Although my passions have always been psych and palliative care, I want to practice as a PMHNP and return to the military or the VA to practice. I am licensed in both Maryland and Michigan and reside here in Maryland. My current dilemma is that most institutions do not accept Maryland residents and this state only has one university in the state that has a PMHNP program and the requirements are ridiculous to say the least. I am considering the following programs, any feedback (from past or present students, or current NP's) would be greatly appreciated. I want to start in 2018 as early as possible.
1. Arizona State University
2. University of Colorado
3. Eastern Kentucky University
4. University of Cincinnati
5. University of Virginia
6. Kent State University
7. University of Alabama
8. University of North Carolina
9. University of Southern Indian
PS I can not PM anyone because I do not have enough postings on this site.
