Congratulations to all, I am a filipino too, but im waiting still for a schedule from the US embassy here in UK, My PD is Oct 2003, and embassy recieved my papers in feb of 2005, Im just wondering, Is it NVC that needs to be contacted about interview dates, cause i phoned them up and they told me that the papers are with the US embassy in London, and they said that its up to the US embassy to make the scheduling, Because as i can see from your posts, the NVC is the one that sending you schedules. Thanks in advance.

NVC has been doing the scheduling for the PIC countries because of the number of people that have to be placed on the schedule. As far as I know, the embassies are handling their own scheduling in other countries.

Have you tried contacting the US Embassy there in London?

yeah i did, and they told me that they cannot give a definite schedule yet, i dont know, its still retrogressed in my case, cause of the US embassy in UK being slow.

hello suzanne, my I-140 priority date was nov. 2004, uscis approved january 2005- vermont service center. when my I-140 was filed at uscis my civil status is single. on january 2005 after i got my uscis approval i got married. by now my NVC immigrant visa processing fee bill was already paid according to my agency. my agency requires me now to fill-up & submit to them my DS-230 form, nbi clearance, birth cert. NSO, authenticated copy of passport but according to my agency, to avoid delay in the processing of my papers DS-230 I need not to include my dependents( my wife) on my packet 3 or any additional member in the family so i need to state that i am still single on my packet 3. I can declare my dependents on packet 4 to avoid delay on the processing of my papers. what do you think mam suzanne? does it really takes a delay if i will change my civil status to include my dependents on my ds-230 form which i havent included before on the filing of my I-140 at uscis. If my agency will submit my ds-230 along with the required papers especially my visa screen certificate by last week of july or first week of august 2005 do you think I can still be included in September 2005 Visa interview at U.S. embassy in manila, philippines? If not when I might be scheduled for interview? Just give me a guess. thank you very much mam suzanne & i hope you can help me by sharing some information that will help me alot.

I do not rely on any immigration information given to me by an agency. They are always going to be out for their best interests first. I cannot offer legal advice here, but highly suggest that you speak with the immigration attorney handling your petition and see what they recommend. They know the details of your case. To me, to state that you are single when you are now legally married could be grounds to halt everything because the documents that you are signing have you state that everything is truthful to your knowledge. That is why I suggest that you speak with the attorney..........

As far as guessing when an interview is going to be assigned is using a crystal ball at this time, unfortunately.

I completely agree with you Suzzane. Declaring false information is a ground for visa denial...that is fraud too. I do not believe that any agency can speed the process up in packet 4. You have to declare that you are married when you submit your DS230 and you have to pay the visa fee for you and your wife so things will run smooth. NVC is the one that issues the visas...Not the U.S. Embassy, they only review the case...Sort of FINAL INSPECTION if you really qualify before you reach your destination.

I am sure that the U.S. Embassy will question you during the interview as to WHY DID YOU GET MARRIED AFTER YOUR I-140 approval??? So you have to be sure that you present evidence that you were engaged a long time ago. Such as photos, letters, e-mails, that you two have been dating quite a while now and THAT IS NOT SOME SORT OF FIXED MARRIAGE or something like that...Pinoys do that all the time, so the U.S. Embassy is so tight on us...

You have a right to get married as and when you think so ,its a very personal thing ,but be 100 percent truthful in whatever you do ,bye SUNNI

Sunni,

There are different traditions from every country. I agree that the PARENTS and the FINANCIAL STATUS of an individual are the most powerful forces the influencnce a marriage....

When i speak of FIX MARRIAGE in a third world country, I do not speak about the influence of the parents or the financial status of an individual...I SPEAK ABOUT THE GREEN CARD THAT HE/SHE WILL GET IF ONE IS MARRIED TO A POTENTIAL GREEN CARD HOLDER...

GREENCARDS ARE FOR SALE NOW...that is why the U.S. Embassy scrutinize every applicant that comes through that they have doubt with...

Dale

These things have always been for consideration ,since adam and eve, even love marriages are not going forwards on empty stomach.Dating etc are not much prevalent here.THE important thing is your intention must be pure and you must ALWAYS be truthful in your relationship as well as with the immigration authorities GOD bless bye SUNNI

i have a friend who has a similar situation like yours. when she filed her i-140 application she was single and she got married after a few days it was approved. when she submit her ds-230 forms, she stated there she is married already and included the name of her husband as a dependent. although her visa was paid already by her agency ( because she was single when she filed, hence only one visa bill is generated) her husband visa was paid during the interview. a couple of months were delayed from the usual time table because she had to get all the documents from the nso including the newly issued marriage certificate.

if you follow the advise of your agency to state that you are single in your packet 3 or ds-230 forms, it will bring you more troubles later or even deny you a visa because of perjury. it is best for you to do the it the honest and reliable way even though it will add a few months in your time table to work in the us.

at this time, don't even think about the 50,000 visas because there are enough for everyone. think about how you will expedite the documents at the nso to do it the proper way with no legal problems to be brought up later. think about your future and your wife's future together inthe us. do not hurry as your agency wanted you to do and lie in your ds-230 forms as a single applciant.

good luck. :)
