Have read in other forums that there are several I-485 approvals. I do not think that it is being prioritized over CP it's just happening because everybody is focused in the processing of shedule A cases.Got a message from my agency that NVC will be the one to call them so I may or may not receive an appoinment letter but my agency will forward the needed documents for my interview as soon as I have a schedule (original contracts printed in their letterhead, hospital assignments, etc) So do not worry if you do'nt receive an appoinment letter, confirmed interview schedule at the US embassy maybe relayed thru your agency, NVC email, NVC hotline, US embassy website. And you can even have an interview schedule ahead of the medical and the packet 4! I believe these are happening because they are facilitating the processing of schedule A before Sept 1, 2005! :rotfl:

This is the first time in my life and maybe the first time in history that NVC will call a particular agency to give appointment dates??? Totally far out!
There are no dates that were set to clear the backlog for schedule A...As i have said STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES WOULD STILL BE FOLLOWED! MORE DELAYS WILL BE EXPECTED....

"Hi!
For those interested...just want to share my experience on my US Embassy interview in Manila.
My PD is March 2004. On June 30, I think, I was informed by my agent that my interview is on July 11. They sent me my packet 4.
Packet 4 includes the ffg:
1. Appointment Letter - this states that you and your dependents, if any, have been scheduled (exact date and time) for an interview. Prior to going to the medical exam, make photocopies of the Appointment Letter for each person that is being petitioned. They need this at St. Luke's Extension Clinic.
2. Guidelines for the medical examination. It will also include the sketch on how to go to St Luke's Extension Clinic.Vaccination requirements. It was stated in the letter that you must complete you medical exam a week before your scheduled interview date but during our medical exam, I've heard of stories that they received their letters just a week or a few days before their interview date. If this happens to you, don't fret -- if you have no current/past medical history the medical exam usually takes two days. First for the labs, xray, etc. and the 2nd day for the results and immunization. If they see on your appt letter that you are due for an interview soon, they will expedite you case.
3. Notice that those who already paid $335 will have to pay an additional $45 on the day of the interview. They also accept peso payments.
4. Visa Picture Requirements.
Prior to the interview, please make sure you have the ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS of the following (for you and your dependents):
1. VisaScreen
2. Employment Offer
3. Birth certificate (NSO Copy)
4. NBI - For travel abroad
5. Marriage Contract
6. Other related docs to nursing (seminars, certifications, etc) -- just to be on the safe side. Although I was not asked to present this.
7. 6 pieces VISA pictures + 1 extra picture for the Medical examination.
8. You may also bring other documents that your agent tells you to present. But in my case I was not asked to do so.
Organize all the abovementioned documents in a clear book or a similar placeholder so that you will minimize the time going through all your stuff. Saves your time and theirs too.
On the day of the interview. You may come earlier than the scheduled time. For those who will bring their own car - you may park in front of Bayview Hotel (50 pesos flat rate). Limited slots though.
Don't bring any electronic device (cellphone, laptop, mp3 players) that will emit radio transmission so that you'll pass through security smoothly. No eating is allowed inside. They have drinking fountains inside.
They will give you a number, be mindful of the "Electronic Queueing Board" -- this is where they flash the Customer Number and what Window you are supposed to go. They don't announce the number, if your number is called over the PA, i guess that's a bad sign. Anyways, a distinct sound is bleeped everytime the number changes.
You will have to go through 4 windows once you got your assigned number.
1st - they will ask for your original documents
2nd - fingerprint scan
3rd - interview with a consul. I was asked how much my salary was? If I already passed the NCLEX? Will my family be accompanying me to the US? If not, I was told that the visa is only valid for 6 months. My husband was asked what his work was here in the Phils. and for how long we have been married.
4th - instructions on how to claim the visa. If you're gonna pay for their courier, it's 165 pesos per applicant.
So, that's basically how we went through our medical and interview. This account is based on our experience, you may or may not experience these but I hope this will give a little info on what to expect.
Just go through the process with trust in the Lord that He will guide you in all your endeavors.
Thanks and God Bless Us All."
Far out BUT possible.Becoming a pessimist huh???
Well nothing is impossible. But what you are saying would only happen when you are the nephew of someone powerfull in the U.S. I am not becomming a pessimist...Just being a REALIST now. Imagine if one agency here in the Philippines holds 30 nurses, do you think the NVC will call from overseas and start telling the appointments of 30 nurses??? What if there are 50 agencies from the Philippines holding 30 nurses on each agency? Don't you think its a little weird if they would be calling just to inform those applicant? This does not follow the principles of visa processing SOP and this is very illogical.
Maybe they would also send you a postcard later huh?

I failed to quaify, my agency is US based and no Philippine counterpart. The agency used "NVC will call" may also mean "NVC will inform, notify, etc" and its not hard for NVC to "notify, inform, tell" the agency or the agency's lawyer about their applicants appointment
I want to understand your case Dale or your "friend's" case... at the start your always the optimist, whatever happened to the "old" dale? I know your becoming a "realist" but am just somewhat surprised to your last few posts. Your always the one who would give us the light at the end of the rainbow, and to the extent of "arguing" with Suzanne if she will be THE pessimist...so what happened???
Do you want to share your "friend's" status?
God bless!

Even if your agency is on the moon or beside the office of NVC in New Hampshire...they would not make a phone call...ok i agree with you that they will inform, notify you as soon as you have your appointment date but these things are done according to their own standard operating procedures, prescribed and in accordance with the U.S. immigration law...No special treatment for schedule A, no V.I.P. treatment for schedule A...
This is my weakness...most of the time...arguing with a FEMALE...hmmmm.
(You have to take me out on a date to know more about me...j/k)You are attacking my emotions now and hitting my softer side. This has nothing to do with my "friends" case she has her I-140 approved last June 2005, waiting for the visa fee bill(hopefuly she will get it this month). Her PD is June 2004 under CSC.
Sorry babe if i hurt your feelings...
Dale
I am always the pessimist?
It is just that I have been working with and helping foreign nurses for over twenty years.................and know what is involved and how quickly things will be done.
As to your NVC dilemma, they are not any different from other government agencies over here either. Simple example, you submit all of your documents or credentials to a BON for licensure, they are missing one item that is holding up the process........they are not going to take that time to inform you, it is up to you to follow up.............or you can be sitting there forever waiting.............you need to be proactive in whatever it is that you wish to do. With thousands and thousands of applicants, they are not going to take the time to inform each and every single of each step along the way. This is also what your agency is being paid to do.

Sorry, Suzanne I did not intend to mean it that way. I know you are not a pessimist I just want to point out the difference in opinion/experience back then when you and dale are sharing your research/opinion/gut feel and sometimes "may argue". I know that you are just stating your opinion based on your broad experience.
