Just wondering if anyone knows if there is a good EFM book out there that is updated enough to contain all of the new nomenclature and interpretation recommendations put out by AWHONN?

Thanks in advance for any replies!

Hi,

I believe you can buy an EFM book directly from AWHONN on their website, but you may have to join, I'm not sure. Two years ago our hospital started teaching the AWHONN EFM course and we each got a book for free that way.

I do like the AWHONN Principles and Practives text. I think it is the most up to date, and its format is user friendly. You can buy it at the AWHONN.

Anything by Dr. Michelle Murray------She is considered a foremost authority on EFM. The book mentioned above is a great reference also. I have that one as well. Here it is:

THIS book is one I personally own and recommend, by Dr. Murray.

Though I do love Michelle's book, she has not updated to include NICHD nomenclature. Her books tend to be a bit more intense, where the AWHONN book is written for easily comprehension.

Very good point--she resists NICHD nomenclature. But her principles are very good and I love how she thinks. Both books are worth owning; you are right.
