Just wondering. I'm just starting with the regular BSN route. Wondering if anyone knows of any graduates that had an easy or hard time finding a job compared to other programs? Or just wanting to connect?

I am currently in the process of finding a college for nursing. I'm a high school senior and plan to take my pre-reqs right after I graduate so I'm really needing to make up my mind which school I will go to. After some research and serious consideration, I'm going to try for Bemidji State. I looked at various community/technical colleges as well as other universities, and Bemidji seems to attract me the most. I read somewhere online that 80% of nursing graduates of BSU were able to find a job within 4-6 months after graduation. Also their NCLEX pass rate is like 88%....that's kind of a turn off for me, because I've looked into a lot of community colleges with a lot better pass rates (like 97%). I think overall though, BSU grads are just as good as any other grad. I keep getting told employers are just looking at your license, not really which school you went to. I think also, depending on the area you live in, there will be higher demand for nurses compared to other areas. I plan to take my pre-reqs for it at my local tech/community college and then transfer, so I hope all goes as planned! Let me know how BSU goes for you, I'm curious!

I'm in BSU's nursing program and I can tell you that not all programs are created equal. I am transferring out of their program into another down in the cities because of my bad experience with them. They may get a good rep when you look at online sources, but when you're in it like me, it is not that at all. I would not recommend their program at all, I've heard some places won't even hire you if you're a nursing grad from BSU! I've loved my classmates but it just has not been a good experience for me.

If you don't mind me asking, what are some of the issues that you encountered?

BSU and the tech school nursing programs are definitely going through a transition period and its gonna take a few years to work out the kinks.
