Hey Everyone!
I just wanted to start a Bellevue College Nursing page for the Winter 2017 cohort! If you got into this cohort or are still in the application process tell us who you are! It would be nice to get to know other students in the program and pass along information to help each other out.
A little about me...
I just received a letter that I was accepted into the winter 2017 cohort yesterday! :) I am new to BC, so navigating the campus and the application process is new for me. I'm originally from Michigan, where I completed most of the prerequisite courses while obtaining my B.S. degree (I was originally pre-med, planning the MD route...). My other prerequisites were completed after I moved here through Lake Washington Institute of Tech. I am currently working in the ER at Swedish hospital which has been an amazing opportunity to learn a ton about medicine. I am 29 and male. That's about all for now! Hope to work with some of you soon!

Hello everyone! I just received my acceptance letter today, and I am super excited. Finally! Anyways, my name is Jackie, and I am a mother of 2 little girls. I was wondering if any of you have any recommendation on where to get the CNA certification. My last to do... I am excited to meet you all:)
Nice to meet you! My name is Brent, btw. I took a CNA course a couple of years ago in Bellevue, although I don't think it exists anymore... It took a couple of months to complete and was worth it, as it helped me get into the hospital.
My my letter did not have a date for the mandatory orientation, it just said to be anounced...
I'm excited to get started!!!

Hello @MacHead4Life I'm Cynthia. I'm 22 and I got my acceptance letter about 3 days ago. I can't even explain the excitement. At first I applied for the fall cohort and got wait listed then I reapplied again. I'm so envious that u have had the chance to work at Swedish. I am also a CNA in a hospital in Tacoma and I have loved the experience so far.
Anybody know when the orientation date is and what step to take after this? I paid the 50$ fee and now I'm just waiting to know what else to do next.
Nice to meet you Cynthia!
I completely understand your excitement -it seems like it took forever to get my acceptance letter! I was actually headed to check my mailbox for a package when I noticed the Bellevue letter. I was both excited and nervous to open it! Now I feel like I can relax a little bit.
I wanted to post a quick tip for anyone having trouble paying the $50 registration fee. If you have never been a Bellevue College student before and/or have never taken classes at Bellevue College, when you go to pay the registration fee, it will error out with the message "failed: you must have a registration appointment time" or something similar. You will need to call the Nursing department and have then enter the registration code for you so you can pay the fee by the deadline.
Cynthia, I think we are just waiting for them to schedule the mandatory orientation date. If anyone finds out the date for the orientation, please post it here! My postal service is not the best and I don't want to miss this important information!

Hi Brent I am excited to meet you and I look forward to meeting you (all of you) in real life. I'm thinking maybe they will email us instead of sending another letter coz that might take a while.
I know emails are not as "personal" but I would prefer this type of communication over standard postal mail... My letters get lost too often! I'm not sure how the orientation information will come, but I feel like it might be sent via snail mail...
I'm excited to meet you all too! :)
Hey guys so I just called Bellevue college to ask when we were gonna get more info about orientation and stuff and they said that we should get informed in August but they didn't say whether it was gonna be by mail or email. So just keep both addresses updated. 😜

Hi!
I'll be in the Winter Cohort 2017 as well! I took my prerequisites at BC so I'm a current student. I'm currently an exercise physiologist and did my first undergrad at University of Miami. I plan to eventually become an NP in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation but am looking forward to working as an RN for awhile first.
Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Also, I currently live in Renton but my roommate will be relocating at the end of October. Does anyone have recommendations on affordable places to live that aren't too terribly long of a commute to campus?
Thanks!
Hi there!
It looks like orientation will be November 4th from 1-4 PM in either room 125 or 126. I just got an email.
