Banner Job....Help

Published

Hi all,

I am hoping someone might have a suggestion for me. I just applied for a PCT position in the NICU at Banner. I applied online as I have done literally dozens of times. I am so tired of getting the "sorry we are looking at other candidates" or "we have decided to discontinue this position" form letters.

I am a CNA, just received my certification in February and am taking the PCT/advanced CNA course at Gateway in May. I received excellent reviews from my advisor, preceptors and the nursing staff at my clinical facility. I know I am more than capable of doing the job. I just need them to give me a chance....an interview at least. I understand that EXPERIENCE rules, but I REALLY want this job. When I graduate with my RN my dream is to work in the NICU. This job would be such an awesome opportunity to get my foot in the door and gain valuable knowledge and experience. My question is, how do I do that? I know they want experience, but how can you get experience if you can't get a job?!

I have already sent over my online application, but is there anything more I can do....call, fax, show up in person? Anything?

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

PCH is all about who you know. Plus, everyone looooves working wth children, so they get way more applicants than they could ever look through for most entry level jobs. One of the best ways to get your foot in the door is to volunteer there, then you can ask your supervisor for a recomendation to HR, once a position you want is flown.

Thanks,

I actually submitted an application to be a volunteer earlier today. Doesn't help with the current job situation, but hopefully something will come up in the future.

Thanks again.

So did you ever get that NICU job?

So did you ever get that NICU job?

No, I had my brother-in-law try and help and got it up to his HR guy, but I was told that NICU was not hiring students. It all worked out anyway, as I got into the LPN program starting next month.
