I recently moved to Bakersfield from out of state and am a new grad RN. Bakersfield seems to have a very different financial situation than other larger cities in California. Could someone give me an idea of what to expect as far as RN salaries go? Also, how much does it vary between hospitals, clinics, Long-Term/ Skilled facilities, etc?
Less than 1 yr experience: ?
2-5 yrs experience: ?
5-10 yrs experience: ?
10+: ?
Thank you!!

Hi, there. I was actually in Bakersfield last week because my parents live there. I used to live there for two years (2003 to 2005).
Anyway, an RN with less than one year of experience can expect to earn in the high $20s to low $30s per hour. Since the cost of living is much lower in Bakersfield when compared to the rest of the state, the pay rates are going to be lower than the offers being made in L.A., San Francisco Bay area, etc.
