I will be applying to the nursing program at Baker Flint in Fall 2012. I am sooo stressed already! I'm just wondering if anyone has gone through the program and could let me know what they had to have to get in grade-wise? How long will I have to wait to re-apply if I don't get in?? THANKS ALL!

I was accepted in the 2010 fall track. At that time, the average gpa for our class was 3.8. If you do not get in the first try, then you will have to wait one year to reapply.
Say I do not get in the first time...do you think it is worth it to re-apply or will my credits transfer to another nursing program at a different college?
I heard the points system has changed since I've applied back in April 2010, so I'm not much help with that. There are about 3 or 4 students in our original group who were re-applicants. There were many applicants, who did not get into Baker, that transferred over to Mott or UofM. Not sure about the transferability of all credits, but from what I have been told by those students, yes, most of their credits transferred.
It wouldn't hurt to apply to other colleges just in case you do not get accepted. I would discuss your scores with the DON at Baker to see where you stand after taking the entrance exam, because from my understanding, Mott and UofM have very long wait lists and it may behoove you to wait one more year to reapply at Baker.
Thank you so much for your input:)

I am currently in the program. If you dont get in the first time you get an extra "point" when you reapply, which can help a lot in regards to getting in. There are a TON of things you should know about Baker before you start attending their nursing program though. If you want some more information let me know

I had a 3.9 GPA and applied to the program with 92 pts at the Owosso campus. Cut off this year for Owosso was 84-95 pts, if you don't get in you get an extra point when you reapply (1 time).
I can't give you advice about the program because u start this semester. My advice it to score good on the Kaplan, that seems to really set people above the rest. There is plenty of threads on the Kaplan entrance exam, study hard!
I already got accepted with 92.52 points
If anyone has questions you can email me bubbles4340 @ yahoo, yes this is an email I made up a while ago because my "real" email has my name in it
