back to school

Posted

I'm struggling with the decision to go back to school for my RN. I'm an LPN with a bachelors degree and have 6 full time years of education. To say the thought of going back to school fills me with dread would be a gross understatement. I think part of my soul will die. There is no way I could realistically get my BSN so please don't recommend that route. My question to the forum is whether the pay gab is truly financially worth furthering my education. (pay gab between LPN vs. ADN.) I have no loans now but only qualify for private ones because of my BA. (that means I will have a high crazy interest rate.) THe cost of the bridge program is between 9 and 15k. I am also factoring lost wages and my extreme hatred of school. I have a full understanding of the fact that it is increasingly difficult to get a job as an associates RN. I do not need or expect unlimited opportunities. I am only interested in the pay.
