Australian nurse wanting to go to CRNA school

Hi there,

I live in Australia QLD and I am interested in anaesthetic nursing. Is there anyone from Aus who has completed their CRNA schooling in America? Could you share any experiences/requirments on your journey into CRNA school ?  Any guidance will be great.

So far I understand I need to pass my NCLEX, gain at least 1-2 yrs in ICU or acute care setting, apply to CRNA school, and apply for a US VISA?

Also is it a requirment to complete my master's in nursing in order to pass the NLCEX? As I understand the USA nurse teaching system is different to AUS. I have no idea how different to what extent it is.

Any response would be really appreciated !!

Kind regards,

You do not need a masters to meet US requirements but you do need clinical and theory hours in Paeds, Mental Health, Obstetrics and Adult on your transcripts
