Hi!! I am a recent PN graduate getting ready to take the NCLEX soon. I'm studying the Kaplan strategy book along with Saunders cd. Just want positive feedback to help bring down the stress level of taking this exam. Any success stories with passing on the first try less than 6 weeks out of school would be great:D I really don't want to have to take this exam again and I really just need some encouragement and hearing good news of others who have gotten through this..thanks
any feedback is welcome:)..anybody???

I graduated 12/16/06 and got my license on 1/9/07. I mostly used Saunders. I am studying for RN now waiting for ATT, using Saunders and Princeton. Good luck to you.

Well...I had the best intentions of studying all of the 4 different books that I purchased, but since I went to work 2 days after graduation I didn't study a single bit!!! I took my NCLEX-PN on Friday, computer shut off at 85 questions, today I found out that I PASSED!!!
Best of luck to you!! It wasn't nearly as hard as everyone made it out to be...but if you have the time, it's best to study Saunders (or so I've heard).
Thanks u guys that's awesome and congrats to you swifty1031 You did it!!!! Your responses just gave me more hope!!!

Okay well I used Saunders and Kaplan Q-Bank Questions and I used the Hurst review for lpn and that helped alot. Go through the Saunders chapters and do the test without reading the chapter and see if you pass with a 80% or above and if you do go to the next. This tip was Suzannes tip. Then if you dont get that score you go back and read the chapter and study the rationales and test to pass with a 90% or higher. This is a good way to find out what areas you are weak in. Make sure you know your lab values and what happens to the body when they are abnormal signs and symptoms. I tested and got only 85 questions and I think I passed but not sure. I have a good feeling. Well and do at least 200 questions a day on saunders and on Q bank. Read rationales right and wrong. Key point YOU GOTTA UNDERSTAND THE WHY! Why do you do this or that verses the other. Okay GOOD LUCK? IF YOU STILL GOT QUESTIONS CONTACT ME OKAY, I AM HAPPY TO HELP!
Thanks padistar!! i find this very helpful.
I just took the exam yesterday and stopped at 85 questions!! the wait is excrutiating but i have a good feeling. i should know for sure tomorrow and i'll let everyone know how i did:)

I took the NCLEX-PN last month and I passed with 85 questions (the minimum). Everyone I know said that when you take the exam you will feel like you failed, but then you will find out you passed. They were absolutely right. I left the testing center feeling like the computer shut down at 85 because I was getting most of them wrong. I thought it was a huge waste of money and I should have just waited and took my NCLEX-RN next year in the spring when I am completely done. But, just as I was told, I checked the early results and somehow I passed!! I took the exam with 3 other girls from my class and we all had the minimum and we all passed! I had quite a lot of teaching questions, select all that applies, priorities, delegations and contact precautions. Only a couple peds, no math, a few drugs and that was about it! I had only completed my PN degree 6 weeks earlier, but I was starting my RN courses already and I think that helped. I studied with the Mosby book and CD, but to tell you the truth, the NCLEX questions are nothing like any of the books, its hard to describe. It's like they give you the worst possible choices as answers and you have to just decide. But don't worry, I will say to you what I heard from so many others, "You will take the exam, feel like you failed, and then you will find out you PASSED!"
GOOD LUCK:nurse:
Thanks ya'll and congrats valkyrispice !! I just wanted to let everyone know that I found out today that I PASSED!!! :dncgcpd:..this whole testing process has been such an awesome experience and I'm soooo glad it's over. I know this may sound weird but when I left I knew i had passed because I had so much faith. I never once felt like I failed and out of 85 questions I had at least 20 SATA which i can't stand, ton of meds(my weakest area), majority priority, and 1 dosage calc...I was so intimidated by that test at the beginning of this journey that I never thought I'd take it, but then I realized that I had made it through nursing school and couldn't let this stand in my way of what I had come so far for and that was to become a nurse. I conquered that fear recently through faith and lots of prayer and got through it. I know i wouldn't have made it without God's help. Also, I didn't study much or over do it and when I felt ready for it I went for it..If I can do it so can all of you:nuke:
