Attn Florida IPN Nurses

Published

If you are the recipient of, or know a nurse who is the recipient of unreasonable 'fitness for duty' refrained from practice referrals as the result of retaliation or vague 'complaints' from fellow nurses or case managers, please private message me. There are three of us thus far, I'm looking to lobby for some change.

Thanks,

Persephone

If I ever do get out, I don't know how I will ever write a letter about the 'good' they've done for me.

1. Forced a diagnosis of high functioning ASD then refused to allow me to hunt for a job better suited to my gifts. So, they'll force me right back into the same type of job I was in previously.

2. Forced an evaluation on me in which the MD stated on my permanent medical record, that I stole drugs and shot them up. I never did.

How do you thank someone for something like that?

This is what I know: you can treat people like that in this world. But make no mistake, it always comes back on you. I would hate to be in their shoes when karma makes her rounds.

I’m getting towards the end of this poop show. I’m not thanking anybody for anything. I eat the poop pie but I ain’t gonna rave about the taste. I’ve seen not one good thing in my years exposure to this program. I won’t attest to anything else. I’d never do this again. I should have found a new line of work

^ I hear you. It would be different if I'd used IV drugs, but I never did. Not only did I never steal them, but I never bought them and shot up either. I've never shot anything up, ever! I was a doctor shopper and I paid my dues to society. I didn't even work in clinical when I was using. I was a case manager!

If anyone is reading this and you haven't yet signed the contract, don't! Get an attorney! A signed contract for IPN makes it legal for them to do anything to you (including referral after referral, discrimination against legitimate disabilities) and say anything they want to and about you.

Attorney BEFORE you sign anything!

^^^^^^This x10000!!!

If I had only known that IPN had less than zero interest in helping me and was wayyyy more interested in the contents of my bank account, I would have ran, not walked to a lawyer. In Florida there are a couple of major law firms that advertise in the quarterly newspaper that we all get. The ads say something to the effect of ‘call us BEFORE self-reporting, etc” They are not just trying to drum up business.
IPN functions on a culture of fear and the (frequently correct) assumption that their victims have neither the financial nor intestinal fortitude to fight them.
Midway through this hell, They pulled some crap on me. I was at a point where I was seeing them for the scam they really are and so I went to one of the aforementioned lawyers. I still had to finish out the time but interestingly enough the BS flinging abated. I made it very clear that I was not afraid the whip out the lawyer card again, if I deemed it necessary.

And they have no governing body, nothing to prevent them from doing whatever they want.

And it has yet to cease to amaze me of the myriad ways they come up with to bamboozle people into their little scam. I read on here where people are given ‘24 hours to make a decision as to wether to comply with their demands to be evaluated (and of course required to be in the treatment/ contract hellscape)’. I’m sorry but if you are not working In nursing (and if you were caught diverting, or popped a positive on a drug test, you likely are not) then nothing is so urgent that you have to make such a life altering decision in 24 hours. To me the only time that is relevant are the occasions where the BON does emergency suspensions. It’s just another means to get you to sign on that dotted line and, once you do, they got ya by the you-know- whats and as Peres says, they can do anything. They ruin people’s lives and livelihoods with no oversight and are completely out of control.

I have already signed the contract w 1 yr Narc restriction. Any suggestions on finding a job? Where to begin & who is IPN friendly? Thanks
