The DW is thinking about getting her BSN through Athabasca while living in the US. Does anyone have any info on the prices or clinical requirements, or if this is even possible? She'd consider other locations as well, as long as they can be done through distance education.
Thanks!

does the nln apply to canada? for some reason i thought it was american.
Does the NLN apply to Canada? For some reason I thought it was American.
No, it is for American programs only. The 2 reasons I said that are:
1.. I thought you and your wife were seeking licensure in the U.S. after graduation, and therefor, wanted to be employed in the U.S.
2. This University is the only Canadian university to be U.S. accredited and because of that I did not know how NLN or IF NLN would be involved with this program.

Oh, I see what you're saying.
We're already licensed in the US and have spent 8 years down there. We're just heading back down for a while, maybe longer (who knows), but will likely return to Canada in the future.
Thanks for the response, though! :)

Hi,
I'm a Canadian RN living in FL for the last 14 years and I am taking my last 2 courses through AU right now. I have taken my whole post RN-BN through AU and I love it! AU has changed the clinical requirements and now they have a virtual preceptorship for the 3 courses that are 4 credits. I think the fact the AU is accredited in the US is going to go a long way to help if you want to take graduate courses down here. I plan to take my MN (NP) through AU as well and the program meets the FL requirements for NPs so it's perfect for me. Good luck with the courses.

Me and the DW are planning on going forward with AU after the holidays, etc. Hopefully it won't break the bank. I've heard it's a good program, I just need to look into the details. As far as I know we can't get funding in the US, and I'm not sure about Canada since we gave up our residency.
I like the accreditation too.
