ASU Post Bacc - 2019

U.S.A. Arizona

Published

Hello! I wanted to start a thread to see if anyone else on here is planning on applying to the ASU PBCNP for the year 2019. From what I understand application is due 9/18. I have an appointment to meet with the nursing adviser 3/30. I am super excited and have gone back and forth for years on this decision but after working in an ER for the past year I have made my decision. I graduated from ASU with a general studies BA in 2016 and started a MHA at GCU last year but have now put that on hold to just pursue my BSN. Any other hopefuls??

Hey! Brush up on your science is my only advice! Basic bio/chem & A&P. Everything else is cake. The TEAS is a lot easier than you expect. :-) We had double the students apply last year (100+/-) than the year before (48)- it seems like the admission number is a toss up every year. Good luck!!

I honestly felt like the teas secrets book went over things just fine. There is so much content that the book can not possibly touch on all of it. I also have a science background so maybe some of my ease came from familiarity and being able to draw on more detailed facts using previous knowledge. Nonetheless, the TEAS does not go into extremely detailed processes, at least not when I took it.

How is everyone feeling about their advancement score? Has anyone heard from an advisor about the number of applicants expected for this year's cohort? Almost time to turn in those applications!

I am happy about my GPA but have not taken the TEAS yet. I'm scheduled to do so on 8/30. Really cutting it close! Im so nervous!

I just took the TEAS yesterday. I was super nervous going into it, but I felt like the practice tests I took were very similar to the types of questions on the actual exam and it prepared me pretty well. Just relax and you'll do great!

I'm feeling good about my advancement score! It is above the average for the past few years but who knows, as it'll just depend on the number of applicants. I'm not sure and trying not to think about it because I will stress out... I've been having trouble all month trying to get Rio to send my official transcript and it still isn't in with ASU so I'm worried I will have to petition to use an unofficial one. Other than that I am good to go. Good luck to everyone!

Same for my advancement score. It seems like the program gets more competitive every year, so you just never know. I'm in the same boat as you trying stay positive about it and not stress.

I was also having the same problem with my Rio transcripts!! Mine were actually received by ASU, but for whatever reason they had not been evaluated and applied to my MyASU. I ended up calling ASU Admissions and the lady said she would tag them to be evaluated and within about a week and a half they finally showed up.

Oh my goodness, thank you for telling me that. I just now checked my DARS report and mine have been received as well, but they aren't in myASU. My new advisor (my old one left) told me I couldn't apply until they were in, so I was panicking...I feel much better now. I'll call them and ask them to evaluate. Thanks again! Good luck with your app. I'm hoping we can get a Facebook group together once we know our status in the program?

Good luck with yours as well! Yeah I like the Facebook idea. I'm sure there will be a lot of questions once the admissions emails come out. There is already a group on Facebook that has people in the current cohort and from last years as well, so that is a good resource for getting questions answered too.

Hey all! Is everyone ready to get their applications in? How did everyone do on the teas? Anyone else nervous?!

Hi Everyone! I'm taking my TEAS next wed - AUG 29th. I'm nervous too. I'm coming in with a 4.0 GPA so that will help. I hope we all get in!

Any current post bacc students what is your new fall schedule like? Where are clinicals at?
