I am a new LPN grad and I have an interview at a facility Friday. When I talked to the manager she said that she would be talking to me about a position at the assisted living area of their facility. I was hoping for the skilled faculty side because I thought that would give me more nursing experience but I still could use any and all experience I can get right now.
Will this give me any nursing experience? I have tried to do some research to see what all I would be doing there as an lpn but can't find much about them in particular .
The facility seems to be a good facility though. They have a 5 star rating and seem to have good client reviews.
Do you guys think this would be a good place to start?
I'm about to go to the interview. Really nervous!

I think any job in this economy is a good thing. You can always work PRN somewhere else for more experience or volunteer to build skills and keep applying elsewhere. Good luck!!
Thanks. I really can't do prn or even volunteer right now since I'm still in school too. I think I'm just gonna see how the interview goes and then worry about that if and when I get offered a job :)

I'd take the job and get your foot in the door. Once you start to work for them it may be easy to transfer to other departments later. Good luck hope the interview goes well
I think it changes things that you're still in school. Given that you're working on furthering your education, I don't think working on assisted living will hurt you in the slightest.
