I'm glad to see the rural programs exist, but I can't see younger nurses going for it full time unless they are drowning in debt.

There was a time when federal nursing loans could be worked down by working in not-for profit hospitals. I vote for bringing those back and make them fully funded.

Just FYI, the National Health Service Corps doesn't place RN's, just NP's, PA's, and MD/DO's. I read this article this morning and immediately started looking into it.

Since my dream is to get my FNP and work in a rural area, this is good info for me to file away, but it won't help me get an interim position when I finish my RN program. :)

I think this is a great program, and hope it's still there in however many years it takes me to get the experience and MSN. :)

I'd also love to see a loan repayment for working in county/nonprofit hospitals, because I'd be all in.
