Members are discussing their experiences with job interviews and hiring processes at a specific hospital. Some have received job offers for different units, while others are still waiting for a call back. There is also mention of disappointment and confusion about not being chosen for positions despite qualifications and proximity to the hospital.
Hi everyone! Arrowhead Regional Medical Center just opened their new grad nurse program for applications. It will close in January or if they receive 300 applications. We can keep each other updated here!

I was also placed in band 4. I do hope that we all get a call. According to one of my friends, she said that she got an interview but she did not get the job offer. Moreover, she said that those that get the job offer already started working today. Let us please stay hopeful 🙂
Mine was in person on Tuesday of this week. I didn't get the job. I was placed on Band 2. They let me know my application will be open till March in case the hiring managers needed to recruit more since the program doesn't statt till May. Crazy that they started to work today already since they told me the program doesn't start till May.

I am so proud of you though for getting place in Band 2! I totally agree with you it is crazy that some of them already started. I never know that new grad positions can be very competitive until now!

I know a student was placed in band 1 for the reason she was a student there. I also did my clinicals there and wasn't chosen. Makes me think what disqualified me and what other had that I didn't LOL. But happy for your friend! Was hoping I get in since I literally live 5 min away from the hospital LOL oh well.

OK that's so annoying. I'm wondering too if you did clinicals there. I had an interview with St. B's ICU and he told me they don't like hiring LVNs because they think they know everything. So disappointing since it was on my resume. Why waste my time? I never thought it was this competitive out here.

They said that at St. B? WOW! That's very unprofessional. I had an interview there on the 14th but for med surg/telemetry. Had 6 nurses in front of me interviewing me. All from different units. Got an email on Tuesday that I wasn't chosen. I'm still thinking why I didn't. I have experience and stuff to at least help me get a job but I been denied at both. So I don't understand what more they want. I have all my certs as well do I really don't get it. I have my LVN too but I never had experience on it. I bridge over from LVN to RN. It's very very competitive out here.

Yes exactly. Ugh. Just gotta keep pushing!

Mostly likely not. I think being a LVN hurt my application too. It's a bummer but on a positive note I went to a walk in interview with Prime Health and they offered me a position with higher pay due to my LVN experience which I'm happy about.

I applied for NICU and L&D and I have not heard anything at this point as well. However, according to the email they sent out our profile stay active until April 13, 2025. So I guess that if we haven't hear back from them by April 13th it is an automatic no. I have my LVN experience for 3 years doing pediatric home health and school based LVN. I was thinking the same thing too that my experience would have hurt my application. In regarding to applying for specific departments, the website will allow you to choose two departments when you are filling out the application form.

It is totally a big bummers . I been applying to NICU new grad since May 2024 and still got denied by many hospital. Sometime I cannot help but thinking about doing my NICU residency in other state next year. I was wondering if having only ADN and Not BSN would have hurt my application as well.
Congratulations to your job offer and the higher pay ! Did you got an offer for ICU position ?

I agree! I hope we all get a call, did your friend have an interview for NICU/L&D?
