Army medic and college grad. Pa or np? Need help!

Published

I'm a Healthcare Specialist (68W) in the Army Reserves, EMT-B, CPR Certified, and am graduating in 8 days with my B.S. degree in Exercise Science with a double minor in Psych and Bio (3.2 GPA)

The two options I have in mind are either PA school (short length of school, great pay, not too much overhead, and the ability to continuously learn in many fields of healthcare) or an ABSN program and then DNP. Obviously the DNP route will take longer, but I love the option of autonomy, especially with the ACA being a game-changer in healthcare.

Can anyone give me some advice, or have a similar situation? This close to graduation has me stressed out about the future!

Depending on the office you work, or where you work, the NP and PA will be the exact same. But, some places not so much since you have to have your charts signed off by a physician for PA. Again, some offices are more autonomous and you have independence.
