when to apply

  1. Hello,
I know this is a little ways off, but I'm doing my homework ahead of time
I will graduate in mid Decmeber of this year. I want to get in with a new grad training program at a hospital. When is a good time to start applying? I was thinking beginning of September? I don't have any healthcare experience, so I think the additional training would be good for me. Is anyone familiar with these programs? I am from WI. Thanks.

I already accepted a position in March, with a graduation date of May (last year). I took the last day position being offered. So sometimes it is good to get going early.

New grad programs are typically twice a year. Usually, a month after most nursing students graduate. So June and January, so something similiar to that. For me and my workplace, I had to be an RN before I could attend my critical care class. So make sure you work out the timing with your NCLEX and paperwork. Especially for you since you live outside Az.
