U.S.A. Arizona

Anyone else apply?

Just got my email this morning. I had a 94% on the Hesi, A's for my pre-reqs and didn't get in. Bummer. Hopefully better news for you guys!

omg-I'M LIKE TOTALLY FREAKED NOW..........how the hell could you get a 94 on the hesi all A's for your pre-reqs AND NOT GET IN? i'm done!

I was pretty bummed at first. But after getting a denial I got an offer to be an alternate maybe a week or two weeks after getting denied. At orientation it sounded like all the alternates could get in. Also, I think the program has been restricted in the number of new seats available due to a 5-year old wait list. They are finishing up with that soon, I think after this fall semester. So there will be many more seats available in the future. I had other friends that got in with alternate as well. I think nursing is way more competitive right now though. Even Maricopa community colleges have a 2-year wait list for their associates program. So try to get the most points possible but definitely don't give up! It should be easier now that they are finishing up the old wait list, it will free up a lot more openings!

I'm joining this forum a little late but wanted to chime in and say congrats to those that got in and good luck to those that will get in soon (that means everyone, I have faith in you all)! I was wait listed for the last three years (I submitted my application 3 weeks before they ended it whew), originally slated for Spring of 2021.

I also wanted to say I was told a few weeks ago that our schedules are starting to be keyed on June 5 and clinical assignments are being sent out June 11th. and they put the fear of god in me because one misstep and it seems you are out.

Either way I'm excited to be one of your peers and I'm looking forward to meeting everyone this coming semester! :)

Hello, congratulations. I'm an alternate and I'm hoping that getting enrolled on the 5th of June means were accepted. I plan on paying cash tuition so I'm hoping that enrollment = acceptance.

Hi. I read your post about applying to Pima, I'm from Tucson as well and understand what you're going through.

I was on Pima's waiting list but decided to look elsewhere and test my luck. I applied at a college outside of Tucson, there was no waiting list, got in first time i applied. I came to find out that I was not the only student from Tucson that was attending the nursing program, turns out there's 8 more students commuting from Tucson.

PMI was not an option for me because of how expensive it is, having to take the pre-reqs again because they dont accept transfers, and have heard bad things about them.

Maybe looking outside of Tucson might be an option for you.

Anyone get registered today? I got an email saying wed be registered June 5th, but no emails have come and no classes have been registered. I can't get any info from the department either. Very frustrating.

How long does it normally take to hear back? I got rejected for fall 2018, but I applied for spring and I've been checking my email everyday

You applied for the Spring? I think the deadline is September 1, so I wouldn't anticipate hearing back until at least October. If you scroll back through this thread, you'll see that it took many weeks past the deadline for people to hear back for the Fall. I believe the reason was that PCC was waiting on the CEP programs finalize decisions before they would notify anyone. whether they were CEP at any of the 3 universities or just ADN. Hope that is helpful.

Oh I realize I actually meant the spring semester for the CEP programs! Their due date was June 1st

I don't know, sorry. Does anyone know where we get the book bundle?

I am late to comment but I just applied for start in January 2019 and wonder if anyone could share insights. It is difficult to get some answers from people. Does anyone want to elaborate on the alternate process and if most of the alternates got in? Also I love any info I can get. What was orientation like, and bootcamp if you went through already? Thanks in advance!

It is not easy to get in, and alternate lists means you are on a waiting list for students that go elsewhere or if another class is opened. If you do not mind sharing, what was you self calculated points?
