Hospitals in AZ

Hello! I am thinking of maybe moving out to Arizona later on down the road after I have developed some years of experience. Which hospitals out there are good to work for? By that I mean pay, benefits, overall satisfaction etc.

Thanks!

Major operations here are: Mayo, Banner, Dignity Health, Abrazo, Honor Health (recent merger, comprised of the former Scottsdale Health hospitals and the John C Lincoln facilities)

Mayo pays the most (and people will debate about their prestige/pay vs The Mayo Cult of Doing Things Our Way); it can be hard to get in there. Banner hospitals are generally well regarded, especially Good Samaritan (now called University Hospital, I think) downtown. With respect to HonorHealth - I think the former JCL facilities are OK, but heard better things about the former Scottsdale Health hospitals - Osborn, Shea, Thompson Peak. I haven't known anyone who works at the Dignity Health hospitals. I personally would not consider working for Abrazo. Hope this helps. Best thing is to check out their websites, see if you can get interviews, and try to feel it out....in the end, it's often the culture of your particular unit/manager that matters the most.

Not a nurse yet but I'd be curious to know why not Abrazo?

Only can speak from personal, anecdotal experience. I have heard nothing but negative things from nurses who worked in their hospitals. And, I routinely read medical records from a bunch of Valley hospitals, and....well, I wouldn't choose their facilities.

Personal opinion, your mileage may vary, and someone who works for Abrazo may jump in to offer another view.
