Verah interesting........

Looks to me like it's a separate application process. Don't know what the wait list is like for it, but for those of you on the waitlist for the RN program, it might not hurt to apply here too. You qualify.

This is a process in critcal thinking thats for sure.

You have to remember that the reading is not considered a STEP... its still the same part of any TB test to be complete. They should call it a double TB test instead of a two step, as you have to have the same test twice within a specified time frame 1 to 3 weeks ( I did mine at 1 week )

I put in my application at Gateway yesterday for the LPN program... .

Were there a lot of people there still turning in applications?

I'd say there were about 40 or so on Monday morning.

One girl said that she arrived at like Midnight the night before so she could be first in line.

Kinda sucks for her since it is not first come first served.

I had to laugh about that one...did she realize she'd be placed in a lottery???

Yeah, I don't think I want to go through that with the Gateway program! Even though it may be awhile before I go to school....I cannot stand uncertainty! Ok, so now I understand the TB thing. But don't you have to get TB tests every six months anyways? Or is it a year?

Haha, I know because I was the second :clown: in line (came at 2 AM).

OMG wow... that is terrible!! I came in a 9:45 ish and there were not a lot of people really in front of me at that point. I wonder if it was steady the whole 3 days or just a trickle of people. We didn't know about the lottery thing and advisement never mentioned it so maybe everyone thought the way that we did that it was first come first served and there are not 100's of people applying for the same 70ish spots???

Nobody knew that we would be placed in a lottery. Even last week they told me it is going to be first come first served.

I was done at 10:15 and I think there was more than 50 people there (I stopped counting after 40).

lol can you tell I don't have a job right now... by all the time I spend on allnurses lately.. lol

These sites get so busy during placement times:D

Yes, I heard about that incident yesterday from some of the faculty. They told me that the nursing advisors were giving "bad information" (her words) and the administraton was upset about folks lined up outside the building Monday morning when they arrived... when actually, they have partnerships to place first and then everyone else will be "randomized"... which I verified meant "drawn out of a hat".

How many will be randomized?, I asked.

One faculty member said, we're not aloud to say... another whispered to me "too many to count".

I don't know if you guys realize this but the MCCDNP placements were on Tuesday. I'm sure there were some "spillover" applicants (me included) from that on Weds and Thurs.

There is no harm in applying so please continue your efforts... you could win the golden ticket!... what a system! :chuckle

I was finished at around 10:30 and there couldn't have been more than 15 people behind me. The hall was kinda small but I'd say it would have looked crazy crowed if there were much more than 50 do ya think?

Well I for one did not place all my eggs in the Gateway bucket. I applied at Central Arizona too and had my interview with them on Monday as well. They told me if I was not placed in Janaury it would for sure be August so I am just waiting on the "placement" letter at this point.

If we all get in I'm nominating Glina as the class president!...

and she didn't leave until 10:15am!... oh yes, you'll have my vote!!!

Glina wants to be an LPN more than anyone I know... I'm already beginning her campaign.
