CNA After Block 1?

Unless something has changed recently, yes you can. There is a form on the BON website for that, I have the link saved but not with me and I can post it later. I don't know if you still have to sit for the CNA exam or not though.

Yes, you can sit for the CNA exam after block 1 of the nursing programs. You have the adviser sign a form from the BON website. Once they approve it, you can schedule to take the manual and skills exams for your certification.

I am a CNA and I heard block 1 is basically the CNA training that I received already for the most part. Basics.

I only ask because I want to take a core req class, but i want to make sure that I am not gong to be bogged down with too much.

CNA was pretty cake, but I studied my butt for it, but I have to knock out a english and I have a dad dying of cancer and I just don't want to lose my eye on the objective of becoming a nurse, but I have to have the class. I can wait till summer if need be...?

Are you a strong writer? Does writing papers come easily to you? If so, then you may be able to handle it along with Block 1. If writing causes you anxiety, I'd wait til summer to knock it out. It's really not difficult but it's just time consuming. I'm a fairly decent writer (my ENG102 paper got me a comment from the instructor that it was the best one she had read in a very long time) but it is still causes me anxiety sometimes to have to come up with a topic, sources, and knock out a big paper. Make it easier on yourself, not more difficult...if you can wait til summer, then I'd wait :)

For clinical, yes block one is pretty much CNA stuff. But in the class you do learn MUCH more then basic CNA education. It's not necessarily difficult, but is a new way of thinking and a lot of info packed into a short time frame.
