Specializes in LTC, med/surg, oncology, cardiac.

Wow,

I amazed at they hired that far out (4 months or so)! Good to know because my hubby and I are looking to relocate to AZ (too cold in WI). He would have to probably find a job first in GIS stuff, and I'm hoping it would be easier for me to get a job in nursing, but after reading some of these posts it looks like people are having a hard time getting jobs in AZ in nursing that is, BUT I'm willing to work shift work too!

Some of my family lives in CA and they have some family in Mesa. They said Mesa is a wonderful place along with Gilbert. I also heard Chandler is good. I'm hoping to find a location with great school districts. Do you guys have all year round schools like CA? We are Sept through beginning of June.

Good luck with your new job!

I don't know about schools, but I can tell you that there are not enough nurses in AZ.

Specializes in NICU.

Well, AZ is definitely not known for being the greatest in the education department (although I'm the product of an AZ education and I don't think I turned out too bad), so definitely do your research.

My personal preference is the east valley (Tempe, Scottsdale, Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, etc) just because I live in Tempe and grew up here, so I'm a bit partial.

I know they tried year round schools in Tempe and Chandler, but as far as I know most of those have gone back to the traditional schedule (as it's not very fun going to school when it's 118 outside).

As a native of AZ, I suspect you meant 'I don't think I turned out too badly'.

......but, I could be wrong :w00t:
