Are there any schools that don't teach the NCLEX style of questions?

It seems to me that the NCLEX style of test questions are a waste of time. I spend more time trying to read similar practice test questions than the actual material I'm trying to learn. I watched a scientific youtube video related to the topic we are studying(arterial blood gas). Teacher was teaching NCLEX stuff and the video was scientific and now I get it. I had no idea what the teacher was talking about.

It may seem like a waste of time in terms of learning the material (and I don't disagree with you about that), but the fact remains that you're going to have to pass the NCLEX in ordered to get licensed. It won't really matter, unfortunately, how well you know the material/content if you aren't competent at dealing with that style of test question.

I just think its crazy that up until this point I didn't quite understand what shallow breathing really meant. I didn't understand the fact that the airway has deadspace that doesn't count. We get all these scenarios that we are supposed to answer the correct answer when it talks about someone breathing shallow. I had no idea what it was all about.
