Are pre-reqs harder than nursing school?

No, they are not harder. No. No.

I went back and looked up something in my old A&P book recently and thought that compared to a nursing book it looked like a kindergarten picture book.

I have one semester left to get my BSN. Every single semester from prereqs to where I am now has been more difficult and more stressful than the one before it, but I feel a huge sense of accomplishment, too. Also, I'm not nearly the anal perfectionist I was during prereqs.

Nursing is so much harder and more rewarding. The only profession that I know where you learn something totally new and test over it in 2 days while at the same time learning even more new stuff.

Think of it like a foundation for nice solid house, you can't build without the basics and then you use those basics to continue building.

Now when we go by the classroom where they teach A&P, my classmates tell each other "They don't even know what they are getting themselves into". And then we start laughing. But the friends that you make in nursing school stay your friends for a long time, and some forever. You go through everything together. I loved it.

Nursing school is much more difficult than the pre-reqs but it is much more rewarding and you feel a great sense of accomplishment. just look at the pre-reqs as a warming up period. good luck on your journey

I guess I stand alone in my views! I found the pre-reqs harder than NS (although I didn't find either of them particularly hard)

I found NS to be pretty easy. I understood the testing style. I appreciated the shift from rote memorization to critical thinking. I put WAY more time into A&P than I did into nursing. For A&P you have to read every page, and memorize all kinds of useless crap. Nursing is easier and makes sense. Once you understand a concept it stays with you.

We didn't have prereqs, but I took A&P prior to starting and found that wasn't any harder than the nursing courses. What was difficult was that nursing school was so very time consuming with all the reading, memorizing, and clinical paperwork, as well as the clinical hours. To date it remains one of the most difficult things I've experienced, yet the one with the greatest reward.

I'm going to do volunteer work in the Fall and Spring. Do you have any ideas of good places for me? PM me if you do.

I'm going to just take one class this summer. Some liberal studies class. Not sure which one yet. I'm taking my first real break from having a heavy load since I started three semesters ago. That and I'm going to work a lot this summer so I can minimize taking out loans.
