Are there any LPN/RN students/grads. who worked full time

I am going to be starting school myself very soon. I went to the school and talked to several of the instructors. They told me themselves that it was very difficult to work full time and stay up on the school work. They suggested maybe working part time, say Friday night and Sat. morning. I have also been told by both instructors and nursing students to save as MUCH money as possible NOW so you dont have to worry so much while your in school and are able to focus on your school work. They say it is very fast paced.

Hi. I've been in the health care field for 3 years. I work and go to school full time. Looks like I'll be in the LPN program starting January 2006. I've heard so many people say how hard it is to work and go to school at the same time. Most of my co-workers who were accepted last year quit work all together. I really need to work. What I really, really, need to know is, Has anyone ever worked full time and finished the LPN program OK. I know it will be a challenge, but I take on challenges pretty well! Thanks a lot. :)

I am trying to take out a personal loan from my back so that I can pay my bills for the year and have money to live on. ( I live with my mom so I dont have rent etc...) I am going to take the loan out for more than I really need so that I can bank the money for the monthly payments on the loan. It was the thing I could come up with so that I will be able to quit my job when school starts in August.

I worked full-time and have three kids. It can be done but, I would not recomended it. It was the hardest year of my life. If there is anyway possible - try to only work part-time. It is possible!! :balloons: Good Luck!

It definitely can be done. I presently work full-time night shift as an LVN/LPN while going to school for my RN. It's hard but you have to do what you have to do. I can't afford to not work.

i worked full time whe i was in lpn school- i worked one job part time during the week, and amother job part time on the weekend. when i was in my lpn-rn school, i worked agency full time. like another poster wrote, i didn't have a choice about working or not.

I worked full time as a LPN as I went to school for my RN. I also am a full time mom and wife. It can be done just takes good time management!!......must have managed all right I graduated Monday night with honor cords.

I worked full time while I was in school. Its hard...but when there is a will....always a way. I just work enough hours to keep my full time status (for insurance, etc). But the place I worked would let me off if I had to study for a "major" test. Good luck!
