The weather sucks! I didn't make it home yesterday, for fear of driving home (then back this morning) in the snow and freezing rain. Me and another girl from work treated ourselves and ended up getting a hotel near the hospital. (the hospital was offering rooms) We found out that the hotel offered a discount too.
I know that the ORs, and Cath labs were slow. One local hospital closed its Cath lab.

Yup. sad to say, alot of fractures caused by falls. It was probably the worst ice I have seen on my car in years, spent 2 hours prying open my doors. One nice benefit in homecare, when the weather is bad, your called off, so was home for 2 days. You guys treat them well, and I'll see them on the flip side...:)

Our Pittsburgh homecare affiliate was closed for the day so all referrals came into my office. We had small ice storm last night, so only 1/2 my clerical staff but ALL my nurses made it to work. They closed our offices at 3 PM EXCEPT for my department; we got out by 6PM, usually there til 8PM.
Ordered in Pizza for my staff---delivery guy said his truck sliding, they were turning down delivery business but made exception for us as we usually order several times a week.
My boss said to put pizza tab on agency's petty cash cause we couldn't leave-------and order in lunch tomorrow too!!!
Even had Valentine's dinner with my family at steakhouse this year!
:w00t:for getting out early.
Stay warm, carry extra blanket, shovel and Kitty Litter for traction.
:smiletea: I'll keep the kettle on for ya....... have a cuppa Hot Chocolate on me.
The traffic accidents are causing a lot of business also. North of the city on i79 there were 15 tractor trailers jackkniffed in one hour. That is just the tip of the iceberg.
