Are anticoagulants used in treating SIRS

I really can find nothing on using anticoagulants to treat SIRS. I'd think that anticoagulant therapy would be included to prevent further formation of micro clots. How is SIRS treated?

There is a debate whether heparin is used in treatment of DIC from severe sepsis. Is this what you are referring to?
