Saw on the news that they are considering putting advertisements on the side of school buses. Hope the hospital administrators don't catch wind of this.

Before you know it, we will be wearing "Coca Cola" logos on the back of our scrubs. "Goodyear Tires" down one pant leg and "Kotex maxi pads" down the other.

I can see it going even further: How about describing product merchandise before we use it. Standing up straight in presentation mode while lovingly holding the product. "This lovely soft under garment is made of 100% blah, blah, blah and can be yours for the low price of $12.99/dz"

Delete this thread before someone sees it! You know it's only a matter of time...

:D

I've seen people on here complain about scripted spiels they're supposed to say to every patient about how "they have time" or whatever... well how much of a leap is it from that to, "last time I was plugged up I took Phillips MoM and it worked so well I nearly blew myself off the toilet!"

Or pharma companies might start making pens with drug names on them... oh, wait....

I can see drug company logos on scrubs, just like the pens and tote bags and note pads, lol. Like the drug companies need anymore slimy tactics to influence drug sales. I cringe every time I go to the doctor and see all of the drug company crap.

Soon it will be patient gowns, bandaids and iv poles, all emblazoned with the latest erectile dysfunction drug...

y'all are cracking me up. You sure have vivid imaginations, and for the life of me i hope none of this happens cos its full rebellion.

I can just see myself advertising the medications to the patients before they take it. This is hmmmm.... it's for....side effects....do not operate machinery if you are on it.......

Well, in theater we wear short sleeved scrubs, and it can get pretty cold in there. A couple of enterprising med companies pass out long-sleeved, paper-based jackets, all emblazoned with their particular products, along with the usual pens, pen holders etc. I have one pen holder called "Macaine" and another called "Rayzon", you get the picture....

Of course, on the wards it would be a whole new ball game. You might get anti-diabetic meds advertised with the slogan above it "Because You're Just TOO Sweet", or your analgesics with the blurb "Let me take your pain away"...

Or perhaps an anal local anaesthetic..."Get rid of that pain in the butt...."

Too funny. Wouldn't be so bad if they paid you to wear them. It's called 'free advertising' NOT!

actually it will be the name of the hospital all over the scrubs. This is what I see for the future. XYZ hospital logo from top to bottom. That will end the day of nurses looking to buy their scrubs online. The will be forced to buy from said hospital and it will provide an additional stream of revenue.

Scrubs already have sports logos, so why not advertising logos?

We aren't allowed to have any drug(or other companies) rep stuff (unable to accept it from them). Doubt the logos on our scrubs would happen unless it has our hospital name on it.
