Hi everyone. I wanted to give a heads up about requesting AP scores from the AP Board. It can take much longere than the 7-10 business days that they quote online.
My story is this. When the application time came open for the program I want to take, I applied. I have been taking my pre-reqs/co-reqs for quite some time at this school and have never had a problem getting into classes that say they require English as a prereq. The GenEd advisors had told me I didn't need to take the placement tests because I have 3ish years of college from way back when and my college transcript reflects AP credit for English. So, I submit my application and the system kicks me out because I was not placed into the correct level of English. I had to get my AP scores in a hurry or miss out on this application period.
I faxed my request and cc information to the AP Board and started waiting. I called on what I counted as the 7th business day for an update. Apparently, they don't count the day your request arrives, so they didn't even count it as 7 business days. I called several times in the next 2 weeks. FINALLY at 22 business days by their count, they found the scores. If you want archieved scores that are old (mine were over 20 years old) they are on microfiche and are not easily accessible. Be sure to request them with PLENTY of time.
Fortunately, it worked out for me, but it was very frustrating waiting for those scores, especially as the timeframe got longer and longer.
