Anyone work as both an APRN and an assistant professor? I recently accepted as full time position, however, I am planning on keeping my current 3 days a week practice as well. It is possible hour wise to do both, but I am curious as to how difficult it will be to do both... I've worked as adjunct for the past 5 years so I am used to the clinical/paperwork side, and have taught a variety of classes over the years. It will be nice to be at one college now, but again I am a bit leary on the 2 jobs at once. Anyone have advice??

I used to teach full-time in an ADN program and also had a part-time clinical practice on the side (I am a child psych CNS). I spent two afternoons a week seeing kids at the local public mental health center. It worked quite well, but I would have had a v. hard time doing the teaching job plus 3 full days of clinical practice a week.

I teach at a practical nursing school. I teach two classes on two days a week and one day of clinicals. I continue to work in a hospital setting approx. 20 hours a week prn. It can be done if your schedule and time permits.
