For all the nurses who did license by endorsement. Did you wait for your license before applying to jobs or did you just apply to jobs and let them know you’re waiting on your license? Any advice would be appreciated.

Applications are usually acted on based on date. It is perfectly acceptable to apply pending getting your license by reciprocity/endorsement. They can check to see that your current license is valid now, interview you, and then give you an answer, then give you a hire date when your new license comes in. If you wait for the license all that other stuff gets pushed back and you might find the job got filled in the meantime.

I agree with Hannahbanana. Definitely still apply. Let them decide whether waiting for your endorsement to come through is something they are willing to do. If you make the decision for them, you may lose out.

Look at what the job applications require, and go from there. In California, it can take 3+ months to get licensed. For the most part, employers are not interested until you're in the clear.
