so i have been applying to ACNP programs, taking GRE, gathering references, etc... well, i thought everything was completed and now i got an email stating i now need to complete another essay, in addition to the two i've already submitted to this particular school. they have recently merged the msn program into DNP and need a specific DNP essay. essentially asking the same questions i answered for the MSN.
i received my GRE report this wk. felt like rubbing salt into an already open wound. i got the minimum usually required, but i feel like i underachieved big time. anyone else feel like there wasnt enough time to finish the test? im an overly analytical person and analyze all scenarios before making a decision. i want to say i had 5-8 questions at the end on both sections i had to "christmas tree" just to finish.
anyways, i felt like i needed to vent and get others' opinions regarding the matter.
thanks a lot!

I applied to four colleges and it was a nightmare. Every college wanted something obscure and different. I took the GRE, wrote tons of different essays, got a varicella titer, a physical, an extra PPD, a tetorifice shot..and more. >_
good luck! it all gets done!
inthesky,
was all the frustration worth it? did you get accepted?

Argh, bureaucracy stinks and I hope it's over soon for you.
Don't remember running out of time on the GRE, just that I was surprised with my math percentile (something absymal)... but then I realized I was being compared with people getting their doctorates in physics, engineering, etc. Didn't stop me from getting in.
I'll find out in April
When I first graduated, I was not sure when(if) I was going to go back to school. I was really discouraged about the new DNP and needed RN experience anyway. As overwhelming as my first year has been, I knew that I was going to eventually go back to school a week within my very first day of being a RN. It will be worth it. Not too many people ever regret education =P

I am lucky, I did not have to take the GRE. In fact I never took the SAT either. I started with my ASN, then earned my BSN and they did not require the GRE where I went to grad school at.

I got lucky and only had to do MAT's, but since I am a foreign trained RN, i started the grad program as non degree seeking until the eventually obtained my transcripts from the country I trained in then changed my status to fuu time grad student. Find a college that goes the extra mile for you, mine did and I cannot say anything bad, they have been great.
