im interested in applying to a nursing program at the local communit college. the application deadline is tomorrow and i wont have the application in by then, but i still have to take the prerequisites. if i submit the application even though it is going to be late will i be able to take the prerequisites or do i have to do that the next time around when i apply again?

yes you should be able to still take your prereqs as long as they are done before school starts. make sure you go to the post office and have them post mark your letter so that way they cant say that you didnt mail it on time.
wait? you havent taken any prerequisites at all? or just some?
i havent taken any.. ive never been in college
oh well you at least need to have some done. and its better if you have them all completed before you apply. so get them done over the summer and some in the fall and apply for the spring. make the most A's you can, and B's NO C's in your science and you should be fine.
well what do i go to the school and ask them what courses i need to take because i have no idea.

Does your college have a website? My school has the pre-requisites for nursing school posted on their website.
You didn't say whether it was RN or LVN. I don't know LVN requirements, but for a very general list, most RN prgrams require Anatomy and Physiology with lab (my university did Anatomy with lab, Physiology with lab, others have A&P with lab), Microbiology, Nutrition, Developmental Psychology, Ethics. But yes, you need to check the program requirements for the school you are interested in.

You need to go to the school, meet with an advisor and develop a plan of study. Yes, you'll need to take prerequisites first. Prerequisite courses are the first step in the whole nursing school process, and you need to complete those before you can turn in your application. Depending on what type of program, this can take anywhere from 1 to 2 years or maybe longer, in some cases.
For instance, I'm in a bachelor's degree (4 year) program, and it took me about 2 years to get my prerequisites completed, and my nursing portion of the curriculum is 3 years long. Other schools are different.
Also, be prepared for waiting lists and/or extreme competition wherever you go. Nursing school is hard to get into, and your prereq grades must be excellent in order for you to have a fair shot. Good luck.
are you in texas?

Definitely call and schedule an appointment with the advisor. At my school, entrance is based on a points. The more classes you take, the higher the grade you make, etc all factor in. There are a lot of other factors. How long have you been out of school? Some classes "expire". I have been out of school for over almost 15 years and my sciences have expired so before I can take A&P (which is a prerequisite), I have to either take another BIO class or test out. You will also need to take placement tests. The best way to start is to meet with the advisor because procedures & admission vary. They will go over everything with you.
Good Luck!!!
ETA: Just saw you are 19 so disregard any classes expiring :chuckle
