Their website says "generous tuition reimbursement" under Benefits.
i'm curious if anyone can give me more specific info. i.e. how much, and also if p/t employees are eligible as well.
Thanks in advance!

the system is now called the barnabas health system. i worked for one hospital under that system and one of my collegues actually did the tuition reimbursement. if im not mistaken you would have to be a full timer. he was a surgical tech that worked full time but lessen his hours after starting school. for RN. he had discussed with me that they gave him maybe close to half of reimbursement and obviously maintaining some sort of a gpa. you might have to put in a years worth of your time into the company in order to be eligible. just call HR theyll be happy to help you. you have a choice between clara maass, community, st barnabas and 2 other hospitals cant remember the names..hope everything works out.
Thanks so much for the response. I have called/emailed St Barnabas to no avail, so I am appreciative that you took the time to respond.
no problem.. hmm im surprised that you called and wasnt given a direct answer. i know they are slow on replying with emails but not conversation by phone. i pm'ed you something.. =)

Hi..I work full time for this system, full time they will reimburse you for 5250 a year, which is January to December. You do have to owe them a year of work from the last date of reimbursal. I think part time you would also be eligible for reimbursement but less $, I don't know the exact amount tho.
Your welcome, hope it was of use to you :)

A few of my friends and I decided to go back to complete our BSN. I had to wait a year before becoming eligible for 5250 (FT). A year is not too long to wait so not to owe anything back but right now that is not in my plans. i thought about going part time, the tuition is a little over 3000 but with the 12 hr shifts I decided to stay full time for the tuition and medical benefits. good luck
Do you mind if I ask where you are looking to go back for a BSN?
Also, am I reading your response correctly that you only get a tuition benefit if you are full-time? Which facility is that?
Thanks so much in advance and good luck with your BSN!

I currently work at Community medical center in Toms River, which is one of the Barnabas Health hospitals. Our tuition reimbursement is slightly more that $2500 a year if you work part time, and $5000 a year if you work full time.
I am 100% positive this is true, as I am taking advantage of the benefit myself!

Can you go to any school or does it have to be an approved school? I am currently an LPN working in LTC and would like to apply to Barnabas and attend the Brookdale CC for the LPN to RN fast track. Am I correct that I would have to be an employee for a year to be eligible? I want to start ASAP, maybe I will start the first year and pay myself or see if I can obtain grants.
Thanks for any guidance in advance!!!!!
