For nurses who currently work or ever worked at NYP/Queens.... how was it working there? Pros and cons? Do they do self scheduling there? What's the Nurse to Patient ratio usually on the med-surg floor? How are the ancillary staff (PCT, Phlebotomists, etc.)?
The hospital I currently work at we have a 1:6 ratio on med-surg/telemetry, sometimes up to 1:7 or 1:8 if staffing is low. We have 1-2 nursing aide (mostly just one) that do the usual bed baths, take vital signs, do ekg, answer lights, etc. etc.

I just saw this. Nyp queens is terrible . Staffing is horrendous . I have gotten 9 patients on a nightly basis . Aides are only allowed to do cleaning . That's it. No v/s, ekg nothing . And sometimes when aides are lazy we have to do them. Avoid this place
