Has anyone used the study guides from Lisa Arends (she sells them online) and passed/taken the exams for Excelsior? I am wondering if it is the only info I should study since I already bought them. OPINIONS PLEASE!! Thanks!! ( I am an LPN going for my ASN)

I wouldn't recommend only studying someone's notes for the EC exams. Just my opinion/experience, of course. Good luck!

They were an excellent supplement and reinforcement for what the recommended text reading provided.

Her spelling and formatting are horrifying in some places; downright distracting with poor grammar and punctuation rampant. However, the CONTENT was spot on, so I have to recommend them. I passed the last 4 NC exams pretty much just studying from her notes. If you can ignore the spelling then I think they would help you.

I'd definitely recommend doing all your required reading, then studying from her notes and from the questions/answers/rationales on the EC practice exams. Definitely worth the money.

I would think that someone who has been making a business out of selling this product for as long as her notes have been around, could have engaged a spell checker and cleaned her notes up a long time ago. But as long as people pay for what she's selling and they pass their tests, it seems to be ok with the world. I used several sources, starting with the recommended texts, to study for the tests.

Equuz-

HOW did you study using her notes? There is SO much and its hard to find a beginning point!! I swear I killed a tree printing it all out!!

I just read the bulletin points and flashcards she has in there, but I did this AFTER I did all the required reading once through the textbooks.
