Hello all! I am an LPN student getting ready to start clinicals next week!
I am pretty heavy and it only takes a few hours of standing/walking before my feet start aching.
I need a good shoe that will prevent this if at all possible. Has anyone tried the "Walk the Walk" brand? If so, were you pleased with the performance?
Thank you so much for your help. I adore this site!

No I have not but I did end up buying some gel inserts for a pair of Nike that were killing me and now I have no trouble at all.

Do a search there are several threads on this topic. What can tell you is you may have to try several different brands before you find whats best for you. From experence for me its best to avoid tennis shoes as you need to replace them about every six months as they wear out pretty quickly. Also you get what you pay for being the more you spend the longer they last and the better they are for your feet and more importantly your back

Hi
I am quite heavy & have many problems with back & arthritis; am also S/P
bilateral hip replacements; I wear K-Swiss shoes--have done so for many years now; they are pricey--I get the cross-trainers; they have better support than others I used to wear.
This is my experience only.

Good shoes can make the difference between a good day and a bady day. I am on my feet 12-13 hours out of the day when I am at work. I prefer Reebok DMX 10's (very, very hard to find), and friends of mine from work are now wearing Z-Coils...our local CRNA wears Zcoils and recommended them, so far, the girls with back problems, foot problems and sciatica have had NO problems with their conditions regardless of how long they are on their feet! I may have to get a pair, however, they run around 150-180 per pair.
