Hello folks.
Is anyone taking BIO 205 Online through Rio Salado right now? The class is almost over, but it would be nice to have a study buddy. I'm doing pretty well in the class, if that helps at all.
BTW, I know some people who are taking the class in-person at the same time. I HIGHLY recommend taking it online!!! It seems to be less work, and I'm almost aceing it (at least for now :chuckle )!!!

How much time do you spend on it? I was contemplating taking it while at the same time as doing block 1 at the skill ctr.

Oh, also, what are the labs like? I can remember thinking the Bio201 labs were sort of time consuming. Are they similar?
The time commitment for Micro is not too much. I hate to say it, but I've gotten into the habit of waiting until the last minute, and do a week's worth in about 2-3 hours tops. I have a VERY strong background in cell biology and genetics, and most of it is a review of that. The big time saver is that all the homework can be done with the lessons right in front of me. I've learned a great deal, but I haven't had to memorize much. My midterm was a little stressful, but I studied the day of and did pretty well. If your BIO background is OK (have taken general biology courses with a good cell/genetics component) then I would assume 3-5 hours tops per week. Considering this is how much would be spent in lecture alone, I would give it a try! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask!
For anyone who read my last post about sailing through Microbiology Online...
I just took the final and I worked me out pretty darn good!!! I think that I did OK, though. If anyone has any questions about that class online, feel free to reply!
Honestly, though, it was either take it online over summer (I just finished) or wait for one of the few open seats in the fall (I would have just started). I made the right choice!!
