Anyone taking A&P 2 in the summer?

Published

I'll be taking A&P 2 (10-week course) from June 1 thru the beginning of August. I'll be glad to have it done before I start the nursing courses in the fall.... Anyone else?

I am too. From June 6th-August 13th. I am taking the lecture online but we go to campus for lab.

Yup, I'm in too. I'm taking both lecture and lab online from May 16 to July 22. I'm a little apprehensive because it'll be a lot faster paced than A&P 1. But then again, I won't be taking another class along with it this time.

Just curious, how does "online" lab work?

I am, too :)

May 31st till August 3rd

i am doing a&p for the health sciences this summer... we do not need a&p 1&2 if we take this class... it is supposed to be a combination of the two classes and is geared towards nursing/pre-nursing students. it will be interesting to say the least. i have a friend now doing it in the normal semester and she said the class is very difficult so i can only imagine how much fun it will be in 10 weeks :uhoh21:

i am taking medical terminology with it... and then will take the last of my classes this fall and re-apply next year for the nursing program... there are times i wonder if i have lost my mind!

Taking it too this summer. Two of my friends I made in A&P I are taking it, and it's the same instructor, so I couldn't pass it up. Also counted my classes and figured that with my fall classes, I'll be done with enough pre-reqs to start applying to nursing schools. Yeah!!!

I had an A&P course that is whole (you cant have one w/o the other) and I took sociology with it as well, but it was 5 credit hour and I need at least 8 credit hours in A&P and I am debating wheather I should take A&P I or A&P II because they both will fill my requirement since I had the whole package in one already.

I plan to take A&P II in summer 2 (July 12th - August 11th), after taking Microbiology from May 17th - June 7th.

A&P II will be my last nonnursing course to take. Then, I'll have all of my prereqs & non nursing courses out of the way before I apply to nursing school :)

I will be taking A&P II and Micro from May 13 thur Aug 15, I will be attending these classes every orther week, friday eves, and Sat and Sun mornings, I will be very busy this summer that's for sure with all the studying I will have to do for both classes, but I am determined to do my best. :p

Hi there, just wondering where you are taking these courses....I would love to do A&PII in 4 weeks. :)

Just curious, how does "online" lab work?

I had wondered about that too before I took A&P 1 lab online. I suppose the lab is pretty lame, but its credit counts just as much as a classroom lab. This is what is required of us each week:

1) We take a 10 question pretest

2) We do our "lab activities". I would equate this to doing a worksheet. It's just looking up stuff in the book/online and answering the questions. It's a little time consuming, but this is where I actually learn some of the material. Two times only (we are currently on the very last chapter) did we use the PhysioX lab book and cd. It does virtual experiments.

3) We take a 10 question quiz on the 20 - 30 assigned lab images for the chapter. (Ex: you're given a picture of the brain and asked something like what is "structure B" and to name a function of it.) This is nerve wracking because you only get 10 minutes, so there's no time to think and you're typing had better not be slow!

We also have 3 practical exams throughout the semester. They are just larger versions of the lab image quizzes from the 5 or so prior chapters.

I'm taking A&P II with the same lab intructor. I figure that I know how he operates, stick with familiar territory. I just wish my lecture instructor was teaching A&P II also for the same reason, but she's not.
