Hey everyone! I am stressing out about the TEAS 6 exam. I'm having to take it in the next month and I'm not sure how to prepare for it. Both of my friends took it today and passed so it's crucial I do well on it or I won't be able to apply to nursing school this fall. My question is did any of you buy a TEAS study manual? And if so what did you buy? Both of my friends (and myself) bought the ATI TEAS: secret study manual by Mometrix and they both said that it didn't help them at all and that the exam was completely different from that study manual. So now I'm more nervous about it than I was. I'm the kind of person that has to study things or I won't do well. My school only allows students to take this exam twice for the RN program so it's extremely important that I pass. Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I took the TEAS 6 in January. I watched a few review videos on YouTube by Mometrix. I had quite a bit of basic anatomy like body systems, meiosis, etc. Math is not my strong suit but it really wasn't that bad. The test was easier than any practice questions I did.

I give some detailed advice on my post about going from a 78 to a 90 in 2 attempts, you can find it through my history if you want to take a look.
Good luck :)

I got a 92% on my TEAS VI. I studied the ATI TEAS secrets from Mometrix as well as the actual ATI study guide. I purchased the practice test A and B as well. The practice test really helped. When I didn't understand a subject in the study guides or practice test I would look up a video on it from khan academy. I studied two weeks before the exam. I basically re-read the study guides and watched multiple videos. On subjects I really didn't understand or never learned I took notes in a notebook to help me remember it. I wish you the best of luck!

I scored an 88% overall on my first try. I had 93.1 in reading, 89 in science, 70.8 in English, and 90s in math. I think I could have done better in English but I may have over studied for that section and psyched myself out a bit. I've always done well in English and writing, was in AP etc., but the TEAS English section is more about language and tedious rules in the English language that I struggled with a bit. Definitely don't neglect that section when studying.
I used the mometrix manual and an app I bought on my phone called "pocket prep". Mometrix gives you an idea of the type
of questions you'll be asked and how to critically think in the reading and English sections. I didn't hear great reviews about the new ati manual so I didn't get it, but it never hurts to have both and compare
them. The mometrix also goes into depth on the concepts for both reading and English which I found helpful.
However, I think the pocket prep app is what helped me the most! It has a question bank of about 1400 and you can take quizzes on the go and lets you choose what you want to study and how many questions. It also gives explanations to every question, making it another great study tool. I was confident with math so I didn't even answer any of the math questions and focused on other areas that I really wanted to study. It also breaks down each larger section into smaller concepts (sciences: anatomy/physio, life sciences, etc).
It was worth every penny of the $15 I paid for it.
None of the the manuals are going to give you an in depth of what you need to know for the science section. It's mostly basic anatomy and physio (heavy on physio) and you may get a couple basic chem questions. The app did help me a lot for the science section with its explanations, but I would also recommend using other tools. I watched videos on YouTube and found the "crash course" playlist for anatomy and physio to be really great for brushing up on concepts I was weaker in. I also looked over my physio notes from the previous semester.
Hope this helps! I studied off an on for about 4-6 weeks.
