Anyone taken a REFRESHER course in Az?

There are refreshers at Gateway CC and Mesa CC, probably others I don't know about....just wondering if anyone has taken one of these or knows anyone who has? Looking for info on any of them (experience, etc).

I searched posts and can't find a thing, despite these programs being pretty full. Where are all these refresher people? Hopefully not UNEMPLOYED lol

TIA!

I graduated from Mesa but did not take a refresher there..I actually completed an online refresher course that was accepted by Arizona BON ..doing it online helped with my current work schedule. AZ always requires clinical refresher time..if you do an online course there are a lot of hoops you have to jump and you have to find your own clinical, which can be difficult. My online refresher took me about six months just working on it here and there. The good thing about online is that you work at your own pace..i think when I first looked at Mesa's refresher they enroll twice a year?

I refreshed after being out for ten years but currently practice in Hawaii. I did not end up with a clinical nurse job, I work in insurance right now and it's a piece of cake compared to running floors :)

I took the MCC refresher in the fall of 2006 and I'm still currently employed. You do have to find your own clinical placement and preceptor. The refresher helped me to get hired. Good luck.

How much practicing RN time did you guys have before the refresher? How long did it take you to get a job afterwards?

I know 2006 was a whole different reality. Wonder what my chances are of really getting a job after a refresher and little practice experience in 2011!?

Thank you!

How'd you get this? Are you bachelors educated?
