Do a search online. All the survey results are posted and are public information. You can look to see what other facilities in your area are getting tagged for.

Also, double check your last survey to make sure your plan of correction has been met and didn't slip.

My facility just completed survey last week. There is a lot of emphasis put on antipsychotics right now. Have dose reductions been attempted( if physician does not want to attempt reduction they must write a statement as to why not- not just check the "no" box), what non pharmacological interventions are in place (and care planned), behavior monitoring sheets, are families involved in giving suggestions/ interventions for behaviors, do you have a correct diagnosis to support the use of antipsychotics. Make sure everything is care planned. How do the cna's know what to do if someone starts having behaviors ??( update resident status sheet/care card with non pharmacological interventions). Upon entrance I was asked to provide a list of anyone in the building with a dementia diagnosis that is on antipsychotics.
