I have a BA, half an MA and a Diploma in Nursing. I was an honors student in all those programs, too. What I want to do is to find a good RN(with BA)/MSN program that will help me start a new career as a Pain Management Specialist or whatever the title is. I want to be able to teach not only patients and families, but health care staff as well. I'm in a unique(not so unique, really) position of having experienced years of chronic illness and pain, along iwth enough surgeries to last me forever. I have personal aquaintance with acute and chronic pain, both my own and others I loved as they died. I feel that knowing about the subject from all those aspects, in addition to more specialized education in Pain Management would make me an extremely empathetic but not naive practitioner.
So, do I become an NP? An MSN educator? A PA?
All sugestions welcomed.
